The Chiswick Project: A Study in Indoor - Outdoor Kitchen Harmony
When our clients envisioned a home where culinary life could flow effortlessly between interior and garden, we knew this Chiswick project required more than two separate kitchens – it required one cohesive philosophy. Completed in March 2025, this pairing of a Pronorm indoor kitchen with its complementary Outopia outdoor counterpart represents Home Living Group’s signature approach: spaces that converse through shared materials, intuitive layouts and uncompromising craftsmanship.
The Indoor Heart
The interior unfolds as a study in warm modernism – fluted walnut veneer cabinetry (Pronorm i-Luminate system) meets Taj Mahal quartzite worktops in a leather finish, their organic textures balanced by sleek stone grey lacquer and dark brass handle rails. Miele’s Vitroline ovens and discreet Quooker tap deliver quiet performance, while the backlit quartzite splashback transforms meal prep into theatre. Every element was considered for its dual role: the L-shaped breakfast bar equally suited to morning coffee or evening wine service.
Its Outdoor Counterpart
Beyond the bi-fold doors, the same design language speaks in our Alfresco Kitchens vocabulary. Brushed aluminium cabinetry from Outopia and a Dekton Lunar worktop mirror the interior’s clean lines. The Wolf 5-burner grill and Kamado Joe station – positioned precisely to maintain sightlines to the indoor hob – turn al fresco cooking into performance art. Underfoot, the once-uneven patio now hosts perfectly levelled cabinetry – one of many invisible solutions that elevate the space.
Overcoming Challenges
The project’s success hinged on meticulous coordination – storing cabinetry during construction delays from the wider renovation project, engineering solutions for the sloping patio, and working alongside the client’s electricians HM Electrical to perfect the lighting transitions between spaces. Our proximity to the site allowed daily oversight, ensuring even the concealed details met our standards.
The Result
What began as two briefs – one indoor, one outdoor – became a single living experience. Clients now move instinctively between kneading dough on the quartzite surface and checking the Kamado Joe’s temperature. It’s this effortless continuity that defines true luxury – and Home Living Group’s approach to creating homes, not just kitchens.
